MFA statement following floods in Macedonia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has followed with great concern the situation in Macedonia caused by unusual rainfall, which flooded Skopje and Tetovo yesterday evening, resulting in a number of casualties and extensive property damage.

Minister Bushati contacted today the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Poposki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Integration Arben Ademi, as well as the Mayor of the Tetovo Municipality, Teuta Arifi.

On behalf of the Government and Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister Bushati expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and conveyed the solidarity of Albania in these difficult moments.

"We express our full readiness to support national and local authorities in Macedonia to overcome this critical humanitarian situation," Minister Bushati stated.
